General tasks
Provide support for peas using pea sticks. Keep watering young plants; water well before sowing seed if the soil is dry. Keep hoeing the area around broadbean, onion, garlic and any other vegetables; drawing-up soil around broadbeans helps stop plant damage by winds. Pinch of the top of broad beans as soon as the first set of beans start to form, to discourage black fly and keep watering regularly Thin carrots, Parsnips, Chard, Spinach to required spacing. Earth up potatoes. Weed around fruit canes and fruit bushes. Clean out carrots showing signs of carrot fly. Cover carrot beds with fleece/enviro-mesh to protect from carrot root fly.

Peas, Radish, Spinach, Spring Onions, Turnip, Herbs. Courgettes, Marrow, Pumpkin (after the middle of May). Beans (French Climbing, French Dwarf and Runner beans), sweet corn after the middle of May. Beetroot, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Cabbage, Calabrese, Carrots, Celery, Kale, Kohlrabi, Leak, Lettuces and Main Crop Potato (last chance).
